West Bank invention to help blind

Three schoolgirls in the occupied West Bank have developed a life-changing device for the blind.It is an advanced cane called “Stick-tech” – that vibrates when near an obstacle, thus alerting the blind.The girls have been chosen from over six million applicants world wide to take part in the International Science Fair.Nour Odeh reports from the Askar refugee camp.

Israel plans to build 12,000 housing units in East Jerusalem

RAMALLAH: The Islamic Christian Commission for Support of Jerusalem and Holy Places on Wednesday revealed a new Israel plan for the construction of 12,000 housing units in East Jerusalem. Hassan Khater, the secretary- general of the commission, told a press conference in Ramallah that the Israeli authorities will allocate 3,000 dunams (741 acres) for the construction of the new settlement of Givat Yael, which will be home for 40,000 Israeli settlers.
