Top Wonks

Hello The McGlynn,

I can think of almost no issue in which false scholarship, flawed theory and ideological fervor have more influence than in the area of economics (I mean trickle down? Seriously?) We hope to change that – starting today – with the launch of Top Wonks, a multi-media guide to the best economic minds in the country.

I hope you will take a minute to visit the website at, where you will find profiles of the best economic thinkers, including videos and links to their written works. The Twitter feed on the site may be the only thing you need to be up to the minute on every economic issue our country faces. And to make sure its easy to find exactly what you need, the experts are searchable by more than forty areas of economic expertise ranging from banking and finance to corporate incentives to the housing market to the intersection of gender and the economy.

Our economy – once a powerful vehicle for the realization of our individual and common goals – no longer offers a sure ride to prosperity. What our country needs now is a group of thinkers committed to intellectual innovation and analytical rigor to drive our economy forward. Top Wonks is the guide to exactly those thinkers!

And this inaugural issue of Top Wonks is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we will offer similar roadmaps to the best thinkers on energy, democracy, civil rights, immigration and other critical issues.

I hope you love it as much as we do!

Warmest regards,

Lynn A. Stout, the Financial System
